Therapy for the Strong Friend

Support for those who carry it all and still show up for everyone else.

Who Is the Strong Friend?

Being a strong friend often means you are the one everyone turns to in times of need.

You are the reliable support system, the problem solver, and the emotional (and sometimes financial) rock that others depend on for strength and stability.

But even strength needs rest. Behind your composure, you may be holding emotional exhaustion, burnout, or quiet isolation. When you spend your days caring for everyone else, it can be hard to notice or even admit your own stress and fatigue.

Common Experiences

The strong friend’s resilience can hide a lot of unseen weight.
The strong friend’s resilience can hide a lot of unseen weight. Stress might show up as irritability, trouble sleeping, chronic fatigue, overperformance, or a constant sense of being overwhelmed. You might feel pressure to stay composed and grateful even when you are tired or discouraged. Over time, the need to always be dependable can make it difficult to show vulnerability, ask for help, or simply pause.

Our Approach

Therapy at Eye In Me goes beyond a space to vent. It’s a space to grow.

We understand that the strong friend often shows up having mastered resilience and problem-solving for everyone else. Our work invites you to slow down and explore the patterns that keep you in constant “holding it together” mode — not to find fault, but to uncover freedom.

We approach therapy as a collaborative and transformative process. Together, we look at what drives your need to perform, protect, or overextend, and we help you build new ways of being that honor your limits and your power.

Our clinicians use culturally responsive, evidence-based practices that move beyond comfort into meaningful change. This isn’t just about coping; it’s about reimagining how you care for yourself, relate to others, and define strength on your own terms.

Founder

I support those who support others. Whether you’re a leader in your family or workplace, a business owner, or the one who keeps everything running smoothly, people rely on you to have the answers. There’s little room for uncertainty, so you figure it out—again and again. But even the strongest need space to set their burdens down. My goal is to provide that space, helping you care for yourself as well as you care for everyone else—sustainably, and with support.

I get it...

You are holding EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY together. You are the super friend that everyone calls when their life is falling apart. You are a leader at work, the owner of a business, you keep your household together, you’re the problem solver and people look to you to get things done. They love you because you are at the top of your game and on most days, you have it ALL together.

On the other hand...

There are those days when you are FALLING APART and you don’t have anyone strong enough to support you as you piece yourself back together. You try to reach out and talk to your friends and family but their best advice is, “I know you will figure it out, YOU ARE STRONG” and somehow you find yourself talking about THEIR issues AGAIN. You cringe, stuff your feelings aside and continue to be THE STRONG FRIEND.

Breakthrough before you breakdown!

We know that you are human and you could use a little guidance sometimes. You may even be secretly stressed out, sad, worried, or angry and need a space to process these emotions– give them some room to breathe and see what happens.

I know that can be scary, but I've seen some great things happen when it's done. Despite the fact that people may not believe this, I know you need somebody to LISTEN, SUPPORT, AND ENCOURAGE you too. Most strong friends know that they’ll be okay in the end, but could use somebody to be there during the process. The good news is that there is support available.
